Why Do We Dance?

Today I want to share with you all the reasons I love dancing!

As a young girl, my pretend play always revolved around being a princess, being whisked away by a prince, and wearing gorgeous ballgowns.  Didn’t we all do that?  OK, maybe not EVERYONE (gentlemen, lol), but I distinctly remember being at summer camp and drawing pictures of girls in pretty off the shoulder sweetheart cut dresses.  

So, why do we dance?  

Why do I dance?  

Well, along with the elegance, beautiful gowns, and prince… I dance because I love to feel taken care of, whisked away, supported, guided, and given the freedom to express emotion through movement!  These feelings are something I can only experience while following a great lead to great music.  The music guides the partnership and creates the opportunity to move in sync with another person.  

Who wouldn’t want this?
