Weekly Newsletter: Lifts 101 Class, April Calendar

Hello everyone!

As a dance instructor I'm so excited to share with you all how proud I am of our students.  We've had some amazing people begin taking dance lessons in 2025 and I'm excited to tell you they are progressing, learning and participating!  This past weekend we had 4 students try their first VIP Party and get a chance to really experience dancing!  They shared that going to a party helped their learning immensely and they felt that they will be able to remember the steps better (plus it was just plain FUN)!

Our Saturday night parties exist to give EVERYONE (regardless of studio, teacher, experience, etc) the chance to grow and experience connection to a community of dancers.

If you come to a Saturday Party and you're not sure who to sit with, who to dance with, or what the expectations are, that's why we have staff!  Sammy, Holly, David and I are there to help direct you, introduce you to others, and get you dancing!

If you take private lessons with us, mark your calendar for our next VIP Party on April 25th!!  Coming to this will increase the value of your lessons, and give you a chance to meet others who are progressing in their knowledge and skill as well!

If you've never taken a Private Lesson with us, I would encourage you to take advantage of our $25 Introductory Private Lesson.  This lesson is designed to get you involved in the studio, answer your questions, and get you started in progressing with your goals, whether they are to get in better shape, have confidence dancing socially, escape the stress of daily life, build a stronger relationship with your significant other, or find a community to hang out with.

Speaking of what we have coming up that you can be involved in....

Mark your calendars for next Wednesday April 2nd when you can begin building s strong base for lifts and tricks with Sammy!  He is teaching Lifts 101, a series focused on counterbalancing and body weight sharing to prepare you all to understand the dynamics and mechanics of lifts.  Don't worry, you will not jump into picking each other up in the air, this class is the first level of knowledge.

Next big event we are preparing for as a studio is our hometown competition!  CBC DanceSport Challenge is our hometown Ballroom Competition and we'd love to show up and be an example of community once again in 2025! We are preparing to run formation teams, get the Amateur Ballroom Team up and running, and prepare our Private Lesson students for ProAm Competition at this event. Even if you've never danced before, in 4 months we can get you set to enjoy your very 1st Ballroom competition.

Ladies, that means coating yourself in crystals and feeling like an absolute princess. (we'll take a trip up north to try on the dresses!)

Our Competition Q&A (CBC Casting Day) is on April 11th at 7pm.  Put it on your calendar and come support as The Crystal Ballroom gears up for this great 3 day competition in August!

We are bringing in our local Dance Vision Adjudicator, Lisa Vegas on April 14th to Coach, facilitate Student Achievement Award (testing out of the Dance Vision syllabus), and run a Master Class.  Be sure to sign up to work with Lisa Vegas on April 14th!

Saturday don't miss our Amazing Weekly Ballroom Party open to everyone, and preceded by Argentine Tango Group Classes in 2 levels!
