This Week's Happenings and More!

Hello Everyone,

Let me tell you about what we have going on this week!

Kelsey is starting up our current Social Formation -Swinging in the Rain tonight at 6:15pm. This is a chance for you to join a group of people to learn a Foxtrot/Swing Group Number for the Buckeye Open Showcase on July 24th. If you have any interest you should come tonight to check it out. There is no charge to try it out tonight, and we can give you all the details if you want to join!

This week is the deadline for our trip to the LaBlast Retreat at a beautiful hotel on the beach in Florida has moved to May 8th! If you enjoy the beach, sunshine, dancing, great people, and great food, you will enjoy this retreat. LaBlast is a form of dance workout that uses a variety of music to dance (and workout) with all of the ballroom dances you know and love in a ballroom, or in the water! This retreat gives you the chance to dance with the founder/creator Louis Van Amstel. Plus there is a fun banquet on Saturday night that will knock your socks off :) We had a tentative deadline of May 1st, but we are keeping it open until May 8th. Then we'll be booking our travel and hotel so we can travel as a group. If you are interested in learning more, improving your skills and being part of our first Amateur Team, we have decided to push back the start date in order to include more of the interested people.

You cannot miss the start of our Amateur Competition Team on June 4th 4:00pm! Please mark your calendars now to be part of this group. We will be pushing towards excellence while enjoying each other's company and creating great friendships! If you love West Coast Swing, do NOT miss the opportunity to get an entire weekend of WCS Dancing & Workshops with Jesse Lopez & Ariel Peck for only $90. Each workshop is individually priced at $20 which makes this weekend a value of $160! Workshops/Dances are Friday evening 7pm-11pm and Saturday 12:30pm-Midnight.

This coming Saturday on May 7th at Noon is our Youth Ballroom Information Session & Party! Every child between the ages of 3 and 18 will benefit from the classes and camps being offered this summer! Ballroom dancing is a great way to develop discipline, learn a skill, make friends, improve at teamwork, and cross-train for other activities. There is no cost, but you do need to pre-register so we know how many desserts to bring! This 1 hour event will offer complimentary classes to youth ages 3-18 as well as introduce the upcoming Series, Summer Camps, and Semester Enrollments to parents and young people. Your children will enjoy a free dance class and party treats while you enjoy seeing them improve their balance, coordination, focus, and confidence through dance!

This Friday is our 1st Friday West Coast Swing Party, then we'll see you Saturday for our Weekly Ballroom Dance Party!
