Competition Team, Donald Johnson returning and our Trunk Show!

Hello Everyone,

Let's talk about the Amateur Dance Competition Team!!! One of the places where I first started learning to dance was at Purdue University's Ballroom Dance Team! I credit much of my early understanding of technique, hair, makeup, and partnership to my experiences on the team. We learned simple routines for each of the dances and went to competition as a team. We were required to wear black practicewear, do our own hair and makeup, and dance with others from the team. What a way to build community! In the world of adult ballroom I don't believe the team atmosphere is encouraged as much for a studio, but I would like to open up that opportunity to our students! Join us for a series of competition focused group classes, learn the basic skills to compete with your ballroom friends and let's show up to our first competition of the year (May 27th and 28th) with an entire team of Crystal Ballroom Competitors! We are already planning to bring a group of ProAm Competitors (those who dance with their instructors and want to reach the highest level of competition), as well as our Competitive Formation Team, and we'll only have more fun with a whole team of Amateur Competitors! Join our Facebook group HERE to stay informed, and show you're interested in being part of The Crystal Ballroom Competition Team! If you choose to do Amateur competition, everyone will get the chance to dance with at least 2 other team members at the competition, so don't worry about finding a partner in advance.

If you missed Donald Johnson's Master Class, DanceVision Student Achievement Testing, or Coachings, don't worry... he's coming back in May! We learned so much and found so much value in what Donald taught this past week, that we have invited him back. Donald Johnson will be returning May 16th and 17th to help us progress even further! Put it on your calendar not to miss his expertise this time!!

Did you all remember to mark your calendars for April 23rd? This is our First Annual Open Ballroom "Trunk" Show! This is an opportunity for you and all of your dancing friends to bring in your lightly used ballroom shoes, practicewear, dresses, jewelry, costumes, and more... and shop through a variety of other's! There is no fee for vendors or individuals to bring along items to buy, sell or trade! Along with the trunk show, we will also be passing out information about The Buckeye Open Showcase on July 24th. This is a full day showcase performance! Put together a fresh dance number (no matter where you dance regularly) and join us for the fun!!

This Friday is our Line Dance Party, then we'll see you Saturday for our Ballroom Dance Party!! Let's Connect Through Dance at The Crystal Ballroom Dance Center!
